The reminisce of the Back Lot Tour is still there. Many of the cars and props are still laying on the ground behind this building, and the loading/unloading areas are just as they were the day the attraction closed down. Even Walt's plane, Mickey1, is still behind Lights! Motors! Action! and Catastrophe Canyon's structure can be seen in the distance. The entrance of the Back Lot Tour is currently being used as a Mickey meet-and-greet area. It seems that this attraction is currently grouped with the abandoned attractions Disney has yet to (if ever) tear down such as Discovery Island, and Disney's River Country water park. Nonetheless, be sure to look for the signs leading you to the current attraction taking up temporary residency in this moldable space:
Disney's Hollywood Studios just can't make up its mind about what to do with the space left behind by the closure of the Back Lot Tour. Last year it was a 'cool' Frozen themed area allowing guests to play in a 'snow box' (similar to a sand box, but with finely chipped ice simulating snow). You can now find a pop up Star Wars retail store tucked behind the Monsters Inc. meet and greet. This area is where the Back Lot Tour used to drop you off at the end of your ride. |
