| For months rumors have been swirling that the various nighttime parades in each Disney park might shift to another park location. Disney has now confirmed that the Main Street Electrical Parade will end is run at The Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World on October 9th, 2016 and it will be relocated back to Disneyland in California "early next year for a limited engagement." |
The Main Street Elecrical Parade returned to The Magic Kingdom in 2010 for a "limited engagement" as part of the Summer Nightastic promotion. The updated show included new LED lighting, new audio technology and 3 new floats (Tinkerbell's, Snow White's, and Pinocchio's). Due to the extreme popularity of the updated parade the "summer-long" return of this performance was extended far beyond its original expectation. Sadly every parade runs its course and this one has run the same course over, and over, and over again. Disneyland is currently winding down on its Diamond Celebration and the current nighttime parade (Paint the Night) will end its nightly performances on September 5th, 2016. It's rumored that Paint the Night will continue performances at Disneyland for special events, so this might indicate that we will not expect to see Paint the Night shift over to The Magic Kingdom unless they would be willing to reproduce the floats in Florida. There is no official word on what, if anything, will be replacing the evening parade in the Magic Kingdom but we will update this post as more information becomes available. Did you know that when Disney's MGM Studios (now Disney's Hollywood Stuios) first opened it boasted the worlds largest Hidden Mickey!? Did you know that Disney's Pop Century Resort was the first phase of a 2 part resort. Pop Century originally opened in December of 2003 under the name 'Pop Century - The Classic Years'. (shown in the picture above to the right) However, if you look to the left of the picture you will notice 3 buildings. These 3 buildings were the foundation for what was to become 'Pop Century - The Legendary Years'. What happened? Read More to find out: |
