Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge officially opens at the Walt Disney World Resort inside Disney's Hollywood Studios on August 29th, 2019. We were allowed into "Star Wars Land" for a 4 hour preview this past weekend. Click on "Read More" for our entire review of the land, food, and entertainment offerings you'll find when you visit this galaxy, not so far away, in Orlando, FL.
If you are a fan of The Muppets you have a new reason to get excited about your next Walt Disney World Vacation! A new LIVE stage show is being planned in Liberty Square. As Sam the Eagle would put it, "A Salute to All the Nations of the World, but Mostly America". Joining Sam the Eagle will be all of your favorite character including Kermit, Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear, Gonzo and James Jefferson (the Town Crier of Liberty Square). This all new show will debut in the fall of 2016! More Muppet news coming out of the parks recently is the announcement of Pizza Rizzo at Disney's Hollywood Studios! Pizza Rizzo will be opening in the former Pizza Planet location in and near the "Muppets Courtyard" next to Muppet Vision 3D. The menu is described as casual Italian-American and will feature indoor and outdoor seating options with nods to Rizzo's family and friends who have visited the restaurant over the years. No word yet if Pizza Planet will be relocated inside the new Toy Story Land but we can assume they wouldn't have 2 pizza places in the same park... Right? Morimoto Asia opened this week at the newly named Disney Springs riverfront entertainment district. We got a chance to tour the restaurant and we were blown away by the upscale dining ambiance! The International Food and Wine Festival Starting Today For It's 20th Year! It's my favorite time of the year! Our wedding anniversary... AND..... The International Food and Wine Festival at Disney's E.P.C.O.T.! The festival runs today (September 25th) through November 16th. Among the many booths and buildings over 30 different countries are represented. Be sure to visit the Festival Center located in the old Wonders of Life pavilion in Future World and pickup your own (free) passport. Each country has a stamp and you will have fun visiting each booth and collecting their stamp to fill up your passport! When you have completed the passport bring it back to the Festival Center for your 'completed' stamp. It makes a great souvenir! "and bonus... it's included with your park admission" For frequent visitors to the Walt Disney World Resort you will soon find that it is impossible to do everything the resort has to offer. I read somewhere that if you were to vacation at Walt Disney World for an entire year... There would still be things you missed! That said, I have a list of hidden gems I have found or experienced over the years that really make me feel fulfilled with my visits to the happiest place on earth: BREAKING NEWS The long awaited expansion of Indiana Jones' presence in Walt Disney World has finally been fulfilled with the open of Jock Lindsey's Hanger Bar. Jock Lindsey of course being a freelance pilot often hired by Indy to fly to remote parts of the world. Oh, that's just my pet snake Reggie Another affordable experience you and your family could have is the Tomorrowland Terrace Fireworks Dessert Party! Although the price of this experience has increased in recent months it is still worth the price of admission to this event. We have attended the Fireworks Dessert Party several times and there are some things you need to know before you go...
Tucked away in a little corner of Disney's Beach Club Resort you will find a small restaurant called Beaches & Cream. Step through the doors and you are magically whisked away to the 1950's soda shop of your childhood (or your grandparents childhood).
Although this hidden gem gets more and more popular each year I still feel like many guests are unaware of it! Here is a little info to fill your glass: One of the best quick service dining experience Disney has created is at the Be Our Guest Restaurant at The Magic Kingdom. Whether it was in the original concept to offer quick service lunch or not I'm not sure. We were invited to test the quick service option before it was launched to the general public a while back and we have been back several times since. Lunch at Beast's Castle is one of the most unique and advanced dining experience to date!
