Tucked away in a little corner of Disney's Beach Club Resort you will find a small restaurant called Beaches & Cream. Step through the doors and you are magically whisked away to the 1950's soda shop of your childhood (or your grandparents childhood).
Although this hidden gem gets more and more popular each year I still feel like many guests are unaware of it!
Here is a little info to fill your glass:

During a recent visit to the Walt Disney World Resort my wife and I made reservations at Beaches & Cream. It was our anniversary over our visit so they set us up in a cozy little corner table with a nice view of the entire restaurant. There was even a nostalgic juke box close by!
First of all there is 1 major thing to know about dining at Beaches & Cream.... There are 2 entrances. The one on the right is strictly for counter service. There is a small selection of food you can get from the counter service area, but mainly it is for guests looking for an ice cream cone on the go!
The left entrance is for the main dining area which is pictured above. As you can see I use the term "dining area" loosely since there is such limited space in this quaint restaurant. I would highly recommend reservations for this location if you are planning to visit. It does not take many guests to fill up the place quickly!

We opted for a classic burger and shake to match the era portrayed by the decor and theming of the restaurant. I always enjoy myself more when I play along with the ambiance! The burger and fries were delicious and the shake could easily be split between 2 people. The picture above is 1 shake split into 2 cups.
The big attraction here is none other than the world famous Kitchen Sink! Disney started offering a much smaller version of the Kitchen Sink in its theme parks. The park version comes with a take home sink themed around Mickey Mouse. We enjoyed one when we visited California Adventure last year. We still haven't figured out what to do with the sink, but nonetheless here it is:
The original kitchen sink is huge! I don't know why but I picture Bill Nye The Science Guy yelling "Big, Huge, ENORMOUS!!!" Anyone else? No? Just me? OK then... moving on. The kitchen sink is made when ordered and contains the following ingredients:
½ cup fudge topping, warmed
½ cup butterscotch topping, warmed
½ cup peanut butter topping, warmed
1 medium banana, sliced in 1/2 –inch slices
1 cinnamon spice cupcake (2 ½ x 1 ¼-inch), quartered
1 angel food cupcake (3 x 1 ½-inch), quartered
2 4-oz. scoops vanilla ice cream
2 4-oz. scoops chocolate ice cream
2 4-oz. scoops strawberry ice cream
1 4-oz. scoop mint chocolate chip ice cream
1 4-oz. scoop coffee ice cream
3 tablespoons chocolate syrup
¼ cup marshmallow crème
¼ cup strawberry topping
¼ cup pineapple topping
1 14-oz can dairy whipped topping
1 brownie (6-inch x 6-inch), quartered
1 regular-sized (2 ounce) candy bar, quartered
4 chocolate cookies with cream filling
1 tablespoon sliced toasted almonds
1 tablespoon dark and white chocolate shavings
1 tablespoon chocolate cookies with cream filling, crushed
1 tablespoon chopped jellied orange slices (approximately 2 large slices)
1 tablespoon milk chocolate chip morsels
1 tablespoon peanut butter chip morsels
1 tablespoon chocolate sprinkles
1 tablespoon rainbow sprinkles
½ cup maraschino cherries
Ordering a Kitchen Sink is kind of big deal... Like, Ron Burgundy big.
When your Kitchen Sink is brought to the table they make an announcement to the other guests, the siren sounds, the lights flash! Its a lot of fun!
If your party can finish the kitchen sink its free, Free... FREE!!! (Sorry, another Bill Nye cut away in my head...) If you cant finish the Kitchen Sink don't worry too much. Its not that expensive, and if you are on the meal plan you can use an entitlement to pay for it.
