Disney Springs has undergone some major changes over the past few years. As the landscape changes so must existing attractions in order to keep up with the theming of their surroundings. "Characters in Flight" has just announced that it will be changing its name to better reflect Disney Springs story. Aérophile: The World Leader in Ballon FlightAérophile is the company that owns and operates the formerly known as "Charters in Flight" attraction. Hence the new name. Simple, straight forward, classic. I think these are all words that could describe this change. When you look at the name of other destinations in Disney Springs the name might fit in better. Jock Lindsey's Hangar Bar is an example of Owner, purpose... and I really feel that's what they were going for here. Love it or hate it?
It's been report that updates are coming to a beloved attraction at the Walt Disney World Resort. Pirates of the Caribbean will be updating a couple scenes throughout the attraction. Among them includes the return of the talking scull! Repurposed as an on ride photo the talking skull welcomes you to the attraction just before you plung into the epic battle. Amid much controversy a cult favorite and meme worthy scene will also be getting a modernized update. This update brings the roll of women to the forefront. In a "We Can Do It" initiative women will now be in charge of the auction. It apears the redhead will now play the roll of the auctioneer by selling off the goods looted or donated from the town. This update is schedule to take place in 2018 at both Disneyland and the Walt Disney World Resorts. Finally, Captain Barbossa will join the skeleton crew in an update exclusive to Disneyland Paris when the attraction reopens July 24th.
Live recording of the Rivers of Light nighttime show at Disney's Animal Kingdom. Skip ahead to 7:40 Its not very often that I post about an "arm chair imagineer" that I have, but something hit me today that I was really excited to share! If you have visted the Magic Kingdom lately you know that you can meet Mickey Mouse at the Town Square Theater right on Main Street USA. This particular meet and greet is very magical because not only are you meeting the Mouse himself, but Mickey actually talks to you! Now, this idea is a way to add a special memory for children old enough to understand cell phones, selfies, texting, etc.
During the newest holiday stage show the Fab Five are trying to track down Donald by texting him on stage using giant "character sized" cell phones. This concept is a way to modernize the characters and bring them into today's day of communication and technology. This is what inspired my idea. Let's combine these 2 things.... The meet and greet and a cell phone. Picture this: Mickey- "Hiya Pal! Come on over! Say... you know something? I have a cell phone too! Mind if I take a selfie with you? Say cheese! Oh boy! That looks GREAT! I'll text it to you!" Disney already has your number from your reservation and or you could provide it for these type of experiences, dinner reservation reminders or fast pass reminders throughout the day, etc. I think this would be very memorable for tweens and adults alike! What do you think!? The 2016 EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival has been uncorked. Guests are 'pouring' in from all over the world to experience the festival, now in it's 21st year! We have compiled the menu from each booth including pricing and pictures. This is your ultimate guide to the offerings you will find while visting. Click 'Read More' below to see the entire list!

In recent weeks many of the resorts have replaced their refillable mugs with a streamlined version which does not include a handle. I for one am very happy about this change because it allows me to easily stow the mug in the side pouch of my backpack. However, others are not so enthusiastic about this updated version of their beloved souvenir because of the difficultly this presents in carrying multiple mugs around the resort. Well, we have the answer to your refillable woes!
Upset? We Have Your Affordable Fix!
For our upcoming trip I purchased a set of tumbler handles. You simply slip your resort mug into the tumbler handle, and AbracadaBAR! You have a refillable mug that can be carried to and from your resort for a low low price of $2.50 each...
I purchased mine here, help us out and purchase yours through the link below:The Main Street Elecrical Parade returned to The Magic Kingdom in 2010 for a "limited engagement" as part of the Summer Nightastic promotion. The updated show included new LED lighting, new audio technology and 3 new floats (Tinkerbell's, Snow White's, and Pinocchio's). Due to the extreme popularity of the updated parade the "summer-long" return of this performance was extended far beyond its original expectation. Sadly every parade runs its course and this one has run the same course over, and over, and over again.
Disneyland is currently winding down on its Diamond Celebration and the current nighttime parade (Paint the Night) will end its nightly performances on September 5th, 2016. It's rumored that Paint the Night will continue performances at Disneyland for special events, so this might indicate that we will not expect to see Paint the Night shift over to The Magic Kingdom unless they would be willing to reproduce the floats in Florida. There is no official word on what, if anything, will be replacing the evening parade in the Magic Kingdom but we will update this post as more information becomes available. In a controversial announcement at San Diego Comic-con Disney released plans to retheme the 12 year old DCA attraction Tower of Terror to a Marvel ride based off of Guardians of the Galaxy. This fresh coat of paint will be called "Guardians of the Galaxy - Mission: BREAKOUT!" The current attraction is set to close in January 2017 so that it can be transformed from a hotel into the Collector's fortress. The Guardians will be on display as captors and it will be our mission to assist Rocket Racoon to free the rest of the crew. You can expect the ride system to remain pretty much the same. However, the fall will now be set to iconic music from the movie soundtrack and will rock, rise and fall to the beat of the music! The new (cough.. rethemed) attraction is expected to open in the summer of 2017. NOTE: The Florida version at Disney's Hollywood Studios is not changing. This announcement is only for Disney's California Adventure location. |
