First up in our February Series is Disney's All-Star Sports Resort! We are excited to kick off our series with this resort because it is the property we have stayed at the most!
There's a lot to cover... On your marks, get set... GO!

First in our starting lineup we have the All-Star Sports Resort. This is a value based resort located at the southern area of Disney's 41 square mile resort property. The All-Star Resorts will be further from the theme parks than any other 'on property' resorts (see #10, #11 & #12 on the map above). That said, heres a heads up... it will take you a 40 minute bus ride to get from this resort to Disney Springs (formerly Downtown Disney). Plan accordingly for any dinner reservations or bedtimes.
When you arrive at the All-Star Sports Resort you will enter Stadium Hall. This is the main building of this resort. Here you will find your resort check-in, concierge, The End Zone Food Court, the bar, an arcade, a souvenir store and the Disney Transportation bus stops.
*Remember to use the online checking feature offered through the My Disney Experience website. You will find a link at the top of this page. You will skip the check-in line and might even be able to head directly to your room without stopping at the desk! This is a feature of MyMagic+ that is included on your MagicBand.
The All-Star Sports property is made up of 5 'easy to walk to' themed sections: Surf's Up!, Touchdown!, Homerun Hotel, Center Court, and Hoops Hotel. I say 'easy to walk to' because as we explore other resorts in this series you will find 'not so easy to walk to' themed sections.

You have the option of requesting 1 king bed or 2 full size beds. They might call them queens, but in the All-Star resorts they are no bigger than a standard full size bed. You can also request an adjoining room if you are traveling with another party, or a larger family. When we check in online we request a top floor that is close to transportation. This avoids the pitter patter of little feet early in the morning, and makes for a short walk back to your room after a long day at the park. You may however request a ground floor room if you prefer or require. Either way, you can request a combination of up to 2 room requests, but Disney makes no guarantees that they will be able to accommodate your room requests.
The All-Star Sports Resort has 2 pools. The main pool is located just outside Stadium Hall and between the 2 buildings that make up the Surf's Up! section. This is the largest pool at the Sports Resort and is also the main pool where all daily activities will take place. That said... The rooms facing the pool area can and will be noisy throughout the day. There is a DJ playing music and announcing games as well as other guests enjoying the pool area at their own desired volume. If you would like a quieter room I would suggest that you request a room in the Touchdown! section, the Hoops Hotel section, or the Center Court section. You may have to walk a little more, but a good night's sleep is worth 100 steps each way to me.
The 2nd pool is located in the Homerun Hotel section. To get to this pool you would walk through the Touchdown! section near the edge of Sports' property. This pool is well themed like a baseball diamond but much smaller than the main pool. It is also quieter because less activites are planned at this pool. A great area to relax and enjoy the Florida sun! You will also find a laundry located in this area.
So ends our brief look into the All-Star Sports Resort. Stick with us all month as continue our February series on the All-Star Resorts. Next up...... All-Star Music!
