We continue our Februrary series by featuring the one, the only... ALL-STAR MUSIC RESORT (applause) (applause) (applause). There's a lot of music to cover... GET IT? Cover? Like a cover band... lol.... Let the good times roll!
As we continue our series there is one clear fact I want to point out about the All-Star Music Resort before we go any further. If you haven’t already noticed this property is very narrow. The rooms are all located directly behind the main building in a single file line. Why does this matter? Because out of all the All-Star properties you WILL end up walking a longer distance to your room unless you are near the main building.
All-Star Music consists of 5 themed sections in the following order: Calypso, Jazz Inn, Broadway Hotel, Rock Inn, and Country Fair. The main building is called Melody Hall. As with all of the All-Star Resorts here you will find your resort check-in, your concierge, The Intermission Food Court, bar, arcade, a souvenir store and the Disney Transportation bus stops. This is the middle (2nd) stop on the bus route to and from your destination. Most buses will stop at all 3 All-Star Resorts before continue to your destination.
There are 2 pools located through the All-Star Music Resort. The main pool is located in the Calypso section. It is shaped like a guitar and features a water fountain featuring The Three Caballeros. The pool feels a little larger than the pool found at the All-Star Sports Resort. The main pool is where you will find all of the actives planned throughout the day. This also means that the Calypso section will have a high noise level throughout the day. Unfortunate if you requested a room close to the main building and/or transportation, but also wanted a quiet stay. You will not get both at All-Star Music. The second pool is located in the center of the other 4 sections. It is shaped like a piano and significantly smaller than the main pool. You will also find a laundry near the piano pool.
So why would you pick the All-Star Music Resort over the others? They are all the same... right? No. What makes this resort unique to the other 2 is that they feature family suites! We were lucky enough to be magically upgraded to a family suite for our anniversary one year and I speak from experience when I say that All-Star Music is a great place to stay with a larger family that does not care if they walk a little further to their room. Besides, if you drove your own car you can park closer to your room when you return from the parks rather than take the bus and walk to and from the main building.
