♪ ♫ ♬ Hooray for Hollywood....♪ ♫ ♬ something, something, something ♪ ♫ ♬ Hollywood... Ok, so I might not know the words to the song, but I DO know a lot about our next resort: All-Star Movies! Quiet on the set... Ready when you are C.B. ...Lights, Camera, Action!
Movies is by far my favorite All-Star Resort! Why else are you in Walt Disney World except to be totally immersed in the characters and movies of your past and present? In my opinion I think this is the best themed All-Star Resort. Also, it has the best layout of all 3 All-Star Properties. If you read through our previous All-Star series you will note that each post indicates rooms that may require a little more walking getting to and from. However, All-Star Movies is laid out in a way that provides adequate space for each themed area without compromising its location or convenience on the property. Remember the bus route I described earlier in the series? It’s important to note that Movies is the last stop on the bus route... so that’s also something to consider if you require sitting on the bus.
When you arrive at the All-Star Sports Resort you will enter Cinema Hall. This is the main building of this resort. Here you will find your resort check-in, concierge, The World Premier Food Court, the bar, an arcade, a souvenir store and the Disney Transportation bus stops.

All-Star Movies is made up of 5 themed areas: Toy Story, Fantasia, Love Bug, 101 Dalmatians, and The Mighty Ducks. The rooms closest to the main building and transportation will be Toy Story, Fantasia, and 101 Dalmatians. Something I have not addressed in the previous All-Star blogs is that sometimes your closest transportation might be at a neighboring resort! The Mighty Ducks is a good example of this. You might want to walk across the street to All-Star Music and hop the bus there, instead of walking through your resort and equal or longer distance.
The main pool will be located in the middle of the Fantasia section. The main pool puts you right in the audience of Mickey Mouse as he performs his famous scene from the major motion picture Fantasia! As with all of the All-Star Resorts the rooms with the highest volume level during the day and into the early evening will be the ones facing the pool, and the bar. We found that in the evening, the noise isn’t coming from guests enjoying the pool as much as it is guest enjoying themselves too much at the bar.
The second pool on this location is located in The Mighty Ducks section. This pool feel like it is the largest of the 'secondary' pools on the All-Star properties. It might just be because it is actually 'pool' shaped. Although the theming makes it look like a hockey rink. You will also find a laundry in this area. In conclusion, the All-Star Resorts all have their own perks depending on what your needs might be. Do the research before you book and make sure you are booking the resort that is right for you. A couple extra dollars a night might be the difference between a magic vacation, and manic vacation.
